Who are we?

Technology is and will continue to be pervasive. It continues to impact all aspects of our life and society. Technology has changed social norms, became the impetus for future social change, and impacted seemingly unrelated fields. There is information out there so we can learn about all of these innovations and how we can implement them into our life. What is lacking, however, is information on the flip side of the coin: the ethical implications. Ethics creates boundaries, boundaries we need to establish. Asking ourselves what these boundaries are doesn't stem from having knowledge of the technology itself. It is reflecting on what it means to be a part of such a large community: the tech community. This is why we started Lucid Tech, to arm all of us with the information we need to partake in these conversations, to have a voice in who or what dictates us, because, ultimately, if we don't start asking the hard questions, someone else will answer them for us.
Here at Lucid Tech, all of the content we make is to foster the kind of thinking that will help dictate what future policy will look like and what role we want tech to play in our lives. Each month will focus on a different type of technology, written and scripted to be simple and, to be frank, lucid. We encourage you to learn more on your own and eventually be more active by signing up to receive our newsletter and participate in the future competitions and hackathons we will host, all of which will be guided towards ethical thinking. We wish you can be a part of this journey with us.
